Life Lately {in pictures}

This past weekend was Easter weekend... we thanked God for Jesus' life and death and celebrated His resurrection, which has set us free. And we wait eagerly for the day when He comes again!

My family came in town - all of them! I don't realize how much I miss them until they're here and then gone again. Saturday night, we invited some friends over to meet my family. We grilled hamburgers and ate yummy fruit salad. We played the name game? I had never heard of it before and I don't think I understand it well enough to explain it... oops. Then we served my favorite - Blue Bell Southern Blackberry Cobbler.

My little brother found a puppy a couple weeks ago, and he brought her to play with LadyBuggs. They had so much fun together! Harley may have even thrown up {on my carpet} because she played too hard. Gross, I know.

Easter Sunday, we went to Austin's grandparents house after church. We feasted on fried chicken, green beans, mac & cheese and rolls. It was delicious. The little kids hunted eggs and obliterated a little chick pinata. {too bad I don't know how to type a tilde}

We both had off work on Monday and it. was. glorious. I slept in and laid on the couch most of the day. My sweet hubby made me pancakes. Later in the day we spend time with some friends and had dinner at Spring Creek BBQ. Chopped Baker - get in my belly. I died and went to Heaven. I had peach cobbler and Blue Bell.

Here are a few pictures of life lately.

Glorious Day

Praising God today for the risen Savior, Jesus Christ.

Living He loved me.
Dying He saved me.
Buried He carried my sins far away.
Rising He justified, freely forever.
One day He's coming.
Oh, Glorious Day!

Sunday is Coming

Come close, listen to the story
about a love more faithful than the morning
The Father gave his only Son just to save us

The earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt the Father's broken heart
tears were filling heaven's eyes
the day that True Love died, the day that True Love died

When blood and water hit ground
walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
the day that True Love died, the day that True Love died

Search your heart, you know you can't deny it
Come on, lose your life just so you can find it
The Father gave his only Son just to save us

The earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt the Father's broken heart
tears were filling heaven's eyes
the day that True Love died, the day that True Love died

When blood and water hit ground
walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
the day that True Love died, the day that True Love died

Jesus is alive
Oh, He is alive
He rose again

When blood and water hit ground
walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
the day that True Love died, the day that True Love died

{True Love by Phil Wickham}

Today, I am thankful for the blood of the Lamb.
Sunday is coming.

Dear Husband

You inspire me.
You inspire me to be my best self.

You challenge me.
You challenge me to be patient, to be slow to anger and quick to love.

You love me.
You love me even when I  don't deserve to be loved.

You pray with me.
You pray with me and remind me that God has great things in store for us.

You pray for me.
You pray for me to be the wife and woman that God has called me to be.

You pray for our family.
You pray for our family - that the Lord would be the head of our house.

You seek first the Kingdom of God.

Praise God for you.
I love you.

Bread of Life

"Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
{Deuteronomy 8:3 / Matthew 4:4}

So this one time at band camp I decided sleeping in slash tv slash facebook slash doing what I... I... I want to do with MY time was more important than spending time with my God in prayer and in His word.

The Bible declares God's word as the bread of life, our sustenance. And I've been starving myself.

I have anger, bitterness, hurt and resentment in my heart.

I don't speak love.
I don't speak truth.
I don't speak forgiveness.
I speak hatred.
I speak disrespect.

And it's ugly inside. And I have nothing to combat it with because I decided it wasn't important to hide His words in my heart. To be completely honest, most of the time I don't even want to combat it. I just want to be angry because I have every right to be. I told you, it's ugly.

I need to feel the weight of my sin on my heart. I need to realize the weight reading God's word carries in living out my salvation. I need to remember that God loves me and desires good for me and His best for me is written out in His book, I just need to reach for it.

"Let us all repent of not making time to read our Bibles consistently and with a grateful heart for such wisdom we have at our fingertips. Let us repent for not calling each other out on this. For not asking one another if we're reading our Bibles. It is disobedience wrapped up in excuses that our life is too busy and exhausting. And it is wrong. We can all make time for what is important to us."

Roadtrip

Roadtrips are good for...

1. chick-fil-a chicken minis and sweet tea - breakfast of champions.

2. jamming out to nsync because you know all of the words to every song.

3. buccee's - enough said.

4. peeing your pants almost because you're in the middle of no where without a restroom for miles.

5. stopping at shaaaaaady places because you're about to pee your pants.

6. finding 3 bucks on the restroom floor.

7. eating sour punch straws and drinking vanilla diet dr. pepper.

8. bluebonnets and wild flowers.

9. spending sweet time with your precious seester.

And I leave you with this...

classic.
